· An applicant must:
Be a senior
in a Burlington County High School or a child/grandchild
High School Senior of a member of Vietnam Veterans Chapter 899.
Have maintained a grade point average of “C”
(or the numerical equivalent) or higher for the last academic year.
3. Plan to attend, full or part time, an accredited college or other institution of higher learning such
as an accredited vocational or technical institute.
Must include the following:
1. A completed scholarship application form. (Download a copy from the link below).
2. A current transcript.
A letter of acceptance from the institution where the applicant
plans to use the scholarship. Letters of acceptance may be submitted subsequent
to the application submittal deadline, but must be submitted before acceptance of any scholarship award.
4. One of the following typed essays: (All essays MUST be between 400-500 words).
Reflecting upon your visit to the New Jersey Vietnam Veterans’
Memorial in Holmdel, NJ.
(Tours are available and can be scheduled by calling the Memorial at 1-800-648-8387).
Reflecting upon your visit to the Vietnam Veterans’
Memorial in Washington, D.C.
C. Reflecting upon an interview you had with a Vietnam Veteran.

2018. No application will be accepted after this date. The Scholarship Award will be presented at our annual
Chapters Picnic on June 23, 2018 at the German American Society, located at 215 Uncle Pete’s Road, Yardville, NJ 08691 beginning at 12:00 PM. Any questions

GENERAL APPLICATION INFORMATION
All application materials and submitted essays become the property
of VVA Chapter 899.
Applications will be kept as part of the Chapter’s records
for a period of at least six months after the latest application deadline.
All conflicts will be reviewed and voted on
by the Board and any voting decision made by a majority of Board Members present will be a final and binding decision.
